Mathieu Zgraggen: Biography

Mathieu Z'Graggen trained as a sound editor before working for several years on short film, feature film and documentary post-production.

His first experience as a director came through participating in the Strasbourg Video Marathon, an event during which a film of less than 5 minutes has to be written and made in less than 48 hours. By winning both the Prize for directing and the Prize from the public, two years in a row he met the Strasbourg-based group La Cité De La Prod, with whom he then worked on several video clip projects.

In 2014, he directed his first short fiction film "Think Big" produced by SOUS THE PAVES LA PROD - SL2P. The film won the Grand Prix of the jury at the Angers Premiers Plans festival and was also selected in a national competition at the Clermont-Ferrand festival before being bought by Canal+ for broadcast in September 2015.

After having been sound and Foley artist editor for Rémi Chayé's animated feature film "Tout en haut du monde" in official competition at the Annecy festival, in 2016 he directed a medium-length film entitled "Iceberg" produced by ALPAGA films & INNERVISION. The film was selected in national competition at the Locarno Festival and in international competition at the medium-length film festival La Cabina in Spain.

In 2017, he is working on the writing of his first feature film "Bye Bye Kelly" in collaboration with the companies ALPAGA FILMS & VEGA PRODUCTION.
