Sabina Gröner: Biography
Sabina Gröner grew up in Basel and studied History and German in Zürich, where she also worked as assistant to the Professor of Linguistics.
After a spell as commissioning editor for talent shows she decided to follow her dream and attend filmschool, beginning her Screenplay studies at the DFFB in Berlin in 2012. During this time she collaborated with a number of different directors and festival selected filmmakers.
In 2016 she graduated and in the same year was awarded script development funding for her feature film “Stockflecken/Stains.” In 2016 she also obtained a grant to attend the renowned Academy for Children’s Media where she developed her children’s novel “Erni”.
In 2017, her first feature screenplay, DFFB graduation film “Ella and Nell”, directed by Aline Chukwuedo, premièred in the Official Selection of the Rotterdam International Film Festival.
Alongside “Stockflecken” she is collaborating with co-author Jasmina Wesolowski on the pilot episode for a new Primetime-Series.
Sabina is a member of Schreibkollektiv Q3, which in 2015 founded the monthly script reading group “Film on Paper”. She lives and works in Basel and Berlin.
